The Current extent of Chicken Island

The Kingdom of Chicken Island, Feathershire and Her Protectorates, commonly known as the Kingdom of Chicken Island, or Chicken Island, is a country comprising the entirety of the Chicken Islands (Chicken Island Major and Chicken Island Minor) as well as many other surrounding islands and the easternmost portion of Meow Island. The Kingdom features two land borders, one on Meow Island shared by Ballymena and Llanfair Cwmlân and one on Chicken Island Minor shared with the Bling Dynasty.

History

Settling

The Kingdom of Chicken Island was founded within the first 24 hours of the server being active. The first building built in the Kingdom was the Bâtiment d'Henri, now known as the Bâtiment Memorial d'Henri, which is a luxury highrise apartment building.

Imperial Era

The Imperial Era, beginning about 2 months after the server started, consisted of many claims being made by the Queen to expand the borders of the Kingdom. This included the claim of Feathershire, Click Bottom, Cloverdale, the Chicken Island Keys (Key Impenetrable, Key Gemini, and Key Arrakis)

Countess Conflict

The Countess Conflict, happening roughly in year 2 saw the formation of the Holy Kingdom of Cassony. The now-queen of Cassony, her majesty queen Maria, was a member of the Chicken Island Nobility, known as Maria, the Countess of Cloverdale. While being the countess of Cloverdale she formed the independent nation of Cassony. In the words of the Queen of Chicken Island “She was both a member of my nobility and a Monarch of a hostile foreign power.” This led to the annexation of Cloverdale forming the now independent state of Simbois which is curated by both the Kingdom of Cassony and the Kingdom of Chicken Island. Although this geopolitical situation might seem complicated, in reality neither nation chooses to enforce their power on Simbois, making Simbois more akin to the anarchist communities of the west.

Governance

Politics

The Kingdom is an absolute monarchy with no clear heir. It has only ever had one monarchy, Her (Celestial/Clucking) Majesty Queen Kisinja I. The official belief of the monarchy is that the Monarch is chosen by god to rule over its populace. The monarchy is incredibly popular among its subjects.

Subdivisions

Chicken Island is largely divided into various counties, one marquisate (Feathershire) and one protectorates (the Chicken Island Keys). The counties and marquisates are governed by counts and marquises of Chicken Island respectively, while the protectorates are directly governed by the monarchy.

Culture

Language

The official language is a distinct dialect of French known as Chicken Island French, although the usage of the French language is very limited and English is the language of government and business. It was the first nation-state founded on the server and had the world’s largest landmass in history. The territory was once significantly larger however the passage of time led to the independence of various regions of the Kingdom.

Propaganda

Chicken Island utilizes soft power very effectively. The Kingdom is very open about the fact that they use propaganda to change the opinions in the minds of non chicken island subjects. The main institution Chicken Island uses to better its image on the international scale is the Magnolia Company. The Magnolia Company is directly owned by the Monarch and it produces News Papers, Banners, distributes Prismarine, as well as owning shops such as the Magnolia Inn and the soon to be Magnolia Ramen shop.
