Argnvald

Argnvald (/ˈɑʕŋvɒld̥/) is a settlement in the northern part of Nostria and the capitol of Argnvaldshold, formerly known as the Northern Realm. It is situated along the Seine north of Greenhill Bay and is built on top of a Ravine. It is the first major settlement along the Great North Road after Greenhill.
History
At the time of the Great Spawning, Argnvald was a medium-sized agricultural village. Shortly after the spawning, Seni arrived in the village and descended into the Ravine inside the village where he opened up the Argnvald Mines.

As the mining operations in Argnvald grew, a secondary town began to form under the ravine, growing into the tunnels that were left behind by the miners. This Undercity would later become known as Argnhel. At this time, Seni also constructed both the road and the subway line connecting Argnvald to Greenhill. Shortly after, an Embassy was constructed by the Queen of Chicken Island. After this, the town remained stationary for a few years.
After Seni's return to the server in 2025, Argnvald has entered a period of growth and industrialization. Several old houses were demolished and larger, more elaborate structures built in their place. Multiple Businesses have appeared in the town, including the headquarters of the Argnvald Trading Company, a branch of the Magnolia Tea Company, and the Cafe Meow. The old wooden dock was demolished and replaced by a larger harbor with multiple wharfs.
Politics
Argnvald cultivates friendly relations with Chicken Island. In late 2025, a trade agreement was struck between the nations that included the official renunciation of Chicken Island's claim over Key Arrakis and secured funding and materials for the completion of the Chicken Island Trade Center which had been left in a half-finished state for several years.
Argnvald maintains neutral relations with Greenhill and the Celtic Commonwealth. There are no travel or trade restrictions along the roads connecting the three settlements.
Argnvald views the Expansion of Wilatol with suspicion. Certain protectionist interests within Argnvald argue that the settlement must be incorporated as a town within Argnvaldshold and must obey Northern Common Law. Official sources refuse to comment on this matter.
