Our Lady's Church and Drag Club
Our Lady's Church and Drag Club (Eaglais agus Club Oíche Draig Ár mBantiarna) is a community space built shortly after the Ballymena Town Hall in June/July 2024.
Construction
Made of locally sourced birch, the simple, single-roomed building follows the local architectural style - full beams at the corners of the building, with planks spanning the gaps in the middle. The eastern wall, just behind the stage, features an intricate stained glass window. This serves a dual purpose as it colours the sunlight during the day and can be used as light filters during drag performances. The church's pews can seat 6, though the maximum safe capacity of the building when the pews are stowed away is 35 people.
